Collage your way to clarity

Do you have a dream you want to bring into the world?

Needing clarity about your life direction, or feeling stuck on a life, business or career challenge?

At a decision point for change?

Join Collage your way to clarity, a creative coaching experience that supports you to tap into unconscious insights using the power of imagery. It’s playful and engaging while also gently powerful, helping you to unlock your intuition so that you can get clear on what you actually want - and how to start moving toward it.

A simple but powerful process

  • You’ll create a collage that reflects your current self, your transition, and your desired future - then share a coaching conversation about your collage

  • You choose your theme - for example, a career change, travel goals, improving your well-being, building confidence, returning to work after maternity leave, or a business direction. Alternatively, you can use a theme I offer.

  • No artistic skills needed

  • Led by me, an ICF-certified coach, facilitator and artist with ~25 years’ experience in health, creativity and community (PhD included)

Note: This is not vision boarding; it is an arts-based coaching process that works with your unconscious mind to source unexpected directions, authentic self-expression and potential.

You’ll walk away with:

  • Clarity on your personal theme

  • A breakthrough on a challenge

  • A collage for personal motivation and focus

  • A goal-focused worksheet to turn insights into action

This is for you if you want to:

  • Reconnect with your purpose and spark new ideas

  • Relieve stress, reflect and gain fresh clarity

  • Explore personal growth through creativity

  • Gain a fresh perspective and find renewed motivation

The workshop can be offered in-person or online, and as a group or individual session (note that in-person options require a venue). See further below to learn about the format.

This workshop has received overwhelmingly positive feedback, including 100% satisfaction and Net Promoter Scores.

Why arts-based coaching?

I love to offer arts-based coaching as an option for my 1:1 clients and for workshops because it brings some unique benefits:

  • It unlocks creativity and new ways of thinking

  • It supports wellbeing and personal growth

  • It’s backed by research - imagery can tap into deeper insights than words alone

Collage coaching is an arts-based coaching methodology that uses the power of image to access unconscious thinking and allow shifts in mental models through new insights and perspectives.

My evidence-based collage coaching process can serve a range of individuals, such as:

  • Community members interested in personal growth through creative exploration

  • Changemakers and creatives aiming to reconnect with their purpose and spark new ideas

  • Professionals grappling with burnout looking for fresh perspectives and renewed motivation

  • Healthcare/caring professionals seeking stress relief, clarity and personal reflection

  • Leaders and teams wanting creative approaches to problem-solving and team cohesion

My collage coaching process can also be run for a private group to co-create one collage, which is useful for groups or teams with a single focus such as strategic planning or team building.

What arts-based coaching isn’t

Arts-based coaching is a unique process that might initially sound like a vision boarding exercise but it is far from it! The similarities end with the use of collage. By combining the power of professional coaching with arts-based methodologies you’ll be able to tap into your unconsciousness in ways that lead to discovery and increased self-awareness.

The process is also distinct from art therapy. Broadly, sometimes people mistake coaching for therapy/counselling, mentoring, consulting/advising or training. It follows that arts-based coaching (such as this collage coaching process) is not art therapy. Although arts-based coaching draws upon art therapy techniques, it uses those techniques for coaching purposes, not therapeutic.

Please note: Given the nature of working with the unconscious mind, this group workshop is not suitable for people who are living with severe mental health issues, unresolved trauma or a recent bereavement (within the past 8 months). This requirement is to protect the emotional safety of participants.

What’s involved?

What’s involved? *

You will have space to play and be creative in ways that can foster your wellbeing. All you need to do is follow the process: nothing more, nothing less. You’ll create your personalised collage coaching ‘artefact’ that you can take away as a source of motivation. You’ll then engage in a coaching conversation that draws out the rich insight that lies within you.

My collage coaching workshop takes us through six stages, including the workshop opening and close.

  1. Introductions and overview: We’ll connect on the process and its evidence, and align on roles and workshop outcomes.

  2. Grounding: I’ll guide you to ground, anchor and connect to your creative power, and notice what theme is calling your attention.

  3. Intuitive gathering: You’ll begin to unlock unconscious insights by selecting images that resonate deeply from the magazines.

  4. Collage creation: You’ll explore and express through the creation of your collage and begin to identify associated meaning.

  5. Meaning-making: You’ll share your visual narrative and a coaching conversation that deepens and consolidates your collage’s meaning. For the group experience, you’ll do this step in pairs or small groups, each having the privilege of being the listener and the sharer.

  6. Integration: I’ll facilitate a reflective process for you to integrate the insights. For the group experience, we’ll do this as a group. We’ll turn towards ‘what next?’ to close the workshop.
