The eclectic mix of past and modern architecture of Burleigh fascinates me. In particular, I love the beach shacks from the 1970’s era, which speak of supposedly simpler times. Since I painted this Symonds Road beach shack, it has been renovated and its nostalgic facade still brings me delight. In painting this beach shack, I freely chose colours that reflect the enduring charm of the stories society tends to attach to these structures.
