Inspired by women I coach, I took to my stories on Facebook and Instagram, as well as inviting previous coaching clients, with the question, “What do you want to yell about?” I wrote their responses very loosely all over this canvas in its blank state and then allowed myself to respond to their answers. I then returned and asked the women, “What comes after the yell?” Again, I wrote their answers onto the canvas. Across the layers, I collaged on materials that connected to the revealed themes. Layers of paint followed intuitively, until the form of the woman emerged, as if bursting into a release of liberation.
