Available art "Just a whisper (Morro Bay Power Plant)" (Framed)

"Just a whisper (Morro Bay Power Plant)" (Framed)

$450.00
Sold Out

This piece is available for purchase through the Drawing Room SF here as part of its SKY show 18 February - 26 March 2023. If you need assistance with liaising with this gallery, I am happy to assist, just contact me here.

12 x 12 x 1.5 inches. 2022. Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel, framed in kiln-dried wood frame. Price excludes shipping or taxes.

I recently had the chance to hike in the Morro Rock area. The conspicuous Morro Bay Power Plant stood by, commanding attention, but it was the sky and her swallowing of the power plant stacks that intrigued me.

PG&E built the power plant in the 1950s and operated it for 50 years. Dynergy later bought the plant and closed it in 2014. When I was there, the sky was so big and open that she engulfed the looming stacks until they retreated into the background, just a whisper of their history.

This painting is a sensory celebration of that brilliant California sky.
