One black swan

$580.00

Acrylic mixed media on paper. Wood frame with double matting (white with red trim). Framed size: 50.5cm x 42.5cm (20 x 16.5 inches).

I regularly enjoy seeing the native black swans gliding across local lakes or waddling on nearby grassland on the Gold Coast. Unfortunately, after public maintenance removed lakeside reeds, these swans faced additional threats like off-leash dog mauls, fishing hooks and lines, and people stealing their eggs.

This painting is my homage to these elegant, wild swans. We need to do more to live in right relationship with the swans - and when we do, it is a joy! The colours I worked with here reflect that relational joy and my concern for their wellbeing.

Watch a time lapse where I tell the story of this artwork’s creation here.

To purchase: contact me here or email karen [at] DrKMcB [dot] com, indicate which painting/s you wish to purchase and provide your billing / shipping address.

Shipping available across Australia. International orders are considered on a case-by-case basis. See ordering and shipping details here.
